| St Hilliers appoints NSW State Manager for Construction |

Following an extensive executive search, St Hilliers has appointed Simon Chivers to the role of State Manager with responsibility for its NSW construction business. Simon brings to his role extensive experience in project management and construction at a senior management level gained during a career spanning more than 30 years. He commenced his career in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in the late 1980s to work with Baulderstone Hornibrook on major Victorian projects including the Victoria State Opera building in South Melbourne, the Melbourne Airport International Terminal and an ADI munitions factory in Benalla. In 1999 Simon joined the multi-national corporation Shaw Group Inc as Managing Director of its Australian subsidiary, Shaw Group Australia, which provided contracting services to the power and industrial sectors and was successfully sold to Tenix in 2005. Simon accepted an opportunity in 2006 to join Leighton Contractors to manage the company’s building operations in India. As General Manager – Building he was responsible for negotiating all contracts, many involving blue-chip multi-national companies located in India. Prior to joining St Hilliers, Simon was a Country Manager for Mace International, one of the largest project and construction management companies in the world. He was responsible for the company’s operations in Russia and was involved in managing more than $500 million worth of retail projects and facilities for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. |
