St Hilliers sells Waterloo Print

St Hilliers has sold an office building and benchmark redevelopment project in Sydney‚Äö?Ñ????ë?¬•s Waterloo, for approximately $10 million to a prominent fashion retailer.

The building at 830 Elizabeth Street, Waterloo provides 3,464 square metres of commercial office space and carparking for 54 vehicles and was St Hilliers former head office. The heritage listed building is a leading example of the adaptive reuse of an industrial building and was the first stage of a major redevelopment of the former Chubb Engineering site by St Hilliers under the then new Green Square Masterplan.

St Hilliers Executive Chairman, Tim Casey said the redevelopment of the Chubb site showcases St Hilliers expertise in property enhancement, which the Group utilises in its funds management operation.

St Hilliers purchased the 1.8 hectare Chubb site, which comprised an entire 'block' bound by Elizabeth, Bourke, Powell and Short Streets, in 1998. The ambitious redevelopment of the site by St Hilliers set a benchmark for projects of this type in the Green Square precinct of South Sydney. Total value of the redevelopment of the Chubb site was approximately $100 million.

St Hilliers masterplan for the Chubb site incorporated a mix of new commercial, medium density residential and adaptive heritage reuse and was lauded for its balance and contribution to the urban context.
