St Hilliers has sold the third and final commercial strata suite in its adaptive re-use Tablet House redevelopment at Jacksons Landing for $3 million. Tablet House is a commercial conversion of a three-storey industrial building, located at 29 Refinery Drive, Jacksons Landing. Built in 1909, the building was originally part of CSR Limited's former Pyrmont Sugar Refinery. St Hilliers purchased the site in November 2002. Using innovative, adaptive re-use architecture and a comprehensive restoration and refurbishment program, it spent seven months transforming the building into what is now one of Sydney's most unique A-grade commercial strata developments. Recent sales have proven that Tablet House is defying market trends for strata commercial office space. The sale price is at the higher end for prices recently achieved in the city fringe Pyrmont area. St Hilliers Executive Chairman, Tim Casey, said that Tablet House appealed to buyers wanting unique commercial space with the convenience of close proximity to the central business district. "In a market saturated with traditional commercial strata suites, Tablet House appealed to tenants who want to be close to the CBD but do not want to occupy the traditional modern office buildings," Mr Casey said. The building features three floors each of which comprises more than 500 square metres of uninterrupted space. The new owners will rub shoulders with co-tenants Aht Works, one Australia's leading commercial film production companies and well known graphic designers, How Graphic Design Limited. St Hilliers other adaptive reuse projects include the highly successful Melbourne GPO; The Mint, the new Head Office of the Historic Houses Trust of NSW; the former Chubb building at 830 Elizabeth Street, Waterloo, Sydney; and St Patrick's Cathedral at Parramatta. Tablet House selling agent was Lindsay Sturrock of Laing + Simmons. |
